Morning Mick, morning All

It’s very dark outside with just a sliver of moon left now so Venus is looking very bright. A good forecast for today so we may go coastwards to look at the new seal pups. DH will be wanting to try out his new camera.

Beechnut Tue 04-Dec-18 06:33:20

Good morning Mick and all.
I opened the curtains and saw frost and a sky full of stars, a wonderful sight and start to the day.

Nfk you got me out of bed to check for Venus smile it is indeed very bright in a still dark sky this morning, there is an orange glow along the horizon too.
Food shop later, not a lot else planned.
Enjoy your days.

Good morning, much colder here in Northampton this morning, and yes, a beautiful crescent moon and shining Venus in the eastern sky.

Been awake ages, so gave up trying to sleep and read from 5am, finished Margaret Forster's schoolgirl diaries. One of my favourite authors.

Just done Sainsbury's order for delivery on Thurs.

Must rush into town this morning to music school offices to get ticket for DD's choir concert next week, then get a few things off the market.

Out this evening to wine club Christmas dinner; we have booked at the local catering college which has a very good restaurant, all cooked and served by student chefs, waiting staff etc. Excellent food and service - much wine will be consumed!

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It is clear and frosty this morning so why was I out pre-dawn in the garden in my PJs taking photos of the sky? Because it was just so beautiful. Not sure what we have planned today. Hope it is better than yesterday.

Good Morning. Not looked out this morning yet. After two days at the hospital, have the dentist today. Then have a fairly easy day.

kittylester Tue 04-Dec-18 07:20:06

Morning all from a cold North Leicestershire.

More Christmas type stuff (maybe the cards!) today and the Sky man is coming to fit SkyQ - hope we can cope! And I need to iron!!

I hope everyone has a good day - especially gd!

Can someone explain where Venus is pleas. If I ever knew, I've forgotten now!

Gagagran Tue 04-Dec-18 07:21:19

Good Morning all! It's clear skies and frosty here on the south coast too and Venus is shining brightly. Love winter skies like this!

DH has his bike club Christmas meal today. They cycle to it so have a good appetite! I shall be supplying cups of tea to Fred the painter who made a good start to the hall and stairs yesterday. He will be back at 8am to continue. I got the Christmas cards done yesterday as I was mainly confined to the study. Not sure what I can do today!

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

Morning Mick and All.

Like you Nfk we have an orange glow on the horizon here in South Bucks. The tracery of branches of a large tree forms a beautiful picture from my bedroom window and there is a bird at the very top, I wonder if it is a partridge ?

It is our WI Christmas Tea today. I am giving the Vote of Thanks to the Entertainers, so I had better smarten myself up, brush my hair and as my dear dad would have said checked I have got a clean neck and polished shoes.

Pittcity Tue 04-Dec-18 07:35:21

Good morning from chilly Colchester. The sun is rising in a clear sky...the kind of winter day I like.
Bits and bobs today. DH has pranged his car and it's only a month old, so it's a trip to the garage first thing.

Beechnut Tue 04-Dec-18 07:35:29

NanKate don’t forget behind your ears.

TerriBull Tue 04-Dec-18 07:35:56

Good morning, slightly down the road from you NanKate, close to Bushy Park we also have an orange glow smile

Gym this morning, then off to buy Christmas cards from local church and then on to John Lewis to order a new blind for our bedroom. Also scouting round toy shops for some Christmas presents for gc.

Have a good day everyone.

NanKate Tue 04-Dec-18 07:37:25

Thanks Beechnut I will be vigilant ?

Willow10 Tue 04-Dec-18 07:37:52

Good morning all. Just seen Venus shining next to the church spire behind my house -looks beautiful. Had a really nice day with family yesterday, today I am taking grandaughter and great grandson to Rushden Lakes for a shopping trip. Hope its a good day for everyone.

NannyJan53 Tue 04-Dec-18 07:41:33

Good Morning from a very icy Black Country. Clear blues skies this morning when I took Partner to train station, and an beautiful crescent moon and a very bright Venus.

U3A Tap dance group this morning. Then this afternoon, picking up 1 DGD from school, as her sister is playing in a football tournament and SIL has to take her there.

Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Tue 04-Dec-18 07:42:31

Good morning all, when I went to bed last night, there was a heavy frost, this morning it's damp and wet with a dark cloudy sky. There is no sign of Venus sad.

This is DGD's first full morning at nursery and we are on standby in case she doesn't settle. She should be OK, as one of my closest friends works there and will keep an eye on her.
I plan to finish off writing my Christmas cards and visit the post office. This time last year, we had three post offices, now we have only one in the town and it is impossible to get parked anywhere near it.
Have a good day everyone, Mick don't spend too much and GD, I hope you are feeling a bit brighter today. flowers.

Sar53 Tue 04-Dec-18 07:49:12

Good morning everyone from a much brighter looking Leamington Spa. My last full day here today. DD1 and I are taking DGD3 to a garden centre today , hopefully to see live reindeer, should be fun.

Brunette10 Tue 04-Dec-18 07:49:47

Good Morning all from a cold and frosty Fife. It's dry though so that for me is good. Meeting a friend this morning for coffee and catch up. Planning on finishing off cards too today. Marydoll sure your DGD will be absolutely fine. Take care everyone.

oldgaijin Tue 04-Dec-18 08:06:49

Good morning all GN's from a frosty Aberdeenshire. Not much planned for today except eye test...should I be driving as everything is a bit fuzzy?
Oncologist yesterday was pleased with me and I don't have to see her 'til end of January. Life's good!

Marydoll Tue 04-Dec-18 08:08:44

Good news, oldgaijin, flowers

Alygran Tue 04-Dec-18 08:12:44

Good morning everyone.
The sun has just popped over the horizon into a clear blue sky. Looks very frosty out! Ironing this morning then meeting a friend for lunch. Really must start the cards today. Sat last night and watched all 4 episodes of the Cry back to back. I wonder what today’s distraction tactic will be?
Hope the day is kind to you all.

harrigran Tue 04-Dec-18 08:18:00

Good morning, we have a harsh frost here in the NE.
Must try and start on the Christmas cards today, I know where they are now after tidying the study yesterday.
GP appointment this afternoon and then some food shopping.
