A small victory

Last week I organised a delivery of a kitchen table from M&S on a specific day, when I knew we would be at home.
We were out the day before the due delivery, came home at night to find the furniture in the back garden, just as it started to rain heavily.
Poor DH had to drag the furniture out of the rain on his own, despite a label stating, "Two man lift" on the boxes.
Immediately emailed M&S, no response at all. Tried a web chat, promised a response in twenty fours hours, nothing!
By this time I was like a dog with a bone, refusing to be ignored.
I then Phoned M&S, first agent wasn't helpful, I insisted that my complaint be heard. I was eventually passed to someone else.
I received £30 in vouchers as an apology. A small victory, Kate.

I returned an online order for a refund. The delivery charge is also supposed to be refunded when a whole order is returned. Two emails later and I got the refund.

I'm hoping for a victory.
I started shopping online in the summer, with Asda.
My last order was cancelled at very short notice, which was annoying as our dinner was included in the shop, and I was promised 10 pounds off my next shop.
I messaged them today, to ask if it still stands since I've been waiting since September.

I took out a gift subscription (digital) to a well-known periodical for my son. It was at a reduced rate because I’m already a subscriber.
I got an acknowledgement which said I would get an email to forward to him so he could access his new account.
Nothing happened. I didn’t get the email. My credit card wasn’t debited.
Contacted customer services. They replied, still nothing happened.
This all happened x 3.?‍♀️

Finally, I messaged the periodical on Facebook.
Within a couple of hours I got the email to forward to my son & he is now enjoying said periodical. ??

Don't think I would have bothered over such a small amount Nankate, but I suppose 60p is 60p, no doubt over the course of a day it all adds up.

It’s the principle Billy not the amount. To be honest I think this has been going on for a long time and in my usual rush I hadn’t noticed. I am in a fortunate position that losing 60p here and there doesn’t make a difference but there are pensioners living on their own who count every penny and I do not want them to be short changed by pilfering staff.

I understand where you are coming from, Kate, it's not about the 60p, but about the dishonesty and lack of trust.

We are in the middle of one.Robert Dyas have been advertising a kitchen trolley half price.When we went in to buy one we were told they were out of stock and there were no more in the warehouse. We asked if we could buy the one on display but were told this was not their policy.Every time we were in town we went in to ask if they had had any more delivered.Now,a week later,they have left a message on our phone to say we could have the display model after all.It now remains to be argued how much discount they are going to give us for a display model.

Keep at it Greenfinch after all it is nearly new, not brand new.

We are off to get the trolley tomorrow.We got a discount of £3 having asked for £5 and we will have to carry or wheel it through the town as it is not boxed.A small victory but honout satisfied!

I had a small victory this week. I was sent an email, from a well known high street pizza restaurant, offering me a 2 or 3 course meal for a set price, if I completed a survey. Because we were going to the theatre, friend and I decided to have dinner beforehand at the pizza restaurant and so I tried to download the voucher for that evening. Tried several times but kept getting the same response "sorry, the deal you are looking for is no longer available". So I called their customer services and they also tried to claim the deal, to no avail. The woman I spoke to agreed that this wasn't right at all and she asked for my email address. Whilst I was on the phone, she emailed a special discount code that gage me 50% off the whole meal! We ate, and drank, very well that night!

On a previous thread I told the sorry tale of a Tesco order simply not arriving at all - when I rang, I was told that the driver had run out of time and had taken it back to the shop! But no-one told me!!

I contacted the CEO and had a call from that department apologising and offering a £30 refund - which has not appeared so far. But.........I have had an email from Tesco informing me that "the following items have been refunded to my account" - and the list includes the whole order! - which was huge (lots of Christmas stuff). I do not know whether it has been refunded yet as I have not had my credit card statement yet - but I await its arrival with baited breath!
