Is it just me? I remember that Christmas Day lunch was with a roast chicken, certainly not turkey! Also, my parents would buy ONE bottle of French red wine for the adults. We children drank water, as usual.
Boxing Day,was the cold roast chicken with Heinz Russian Salad and Heinz Potato Salad. We loved it though.
Only had chicken at Christmas for several years but, as I said... is this just me?
Of course, we cracked nuts and ate tangerines and the crackers contained really good surprises.
We certainly were not well off but nor were we poor.
Anybody else have memories?
