Thank you, travelsafar, for mentioning Bon Marché as it was the only web site I hadn't looked at for a pair of jersey trousers. There was only one pair left and it happened to be in my size and length. So I promptly ordered it. Cheers!

Well done a result indeed. I had a bit of a result in Tesco this morning my GD loves Churros and they sell frozen ones (not a patch on fresh of course) anyway they are £3 a box or 3 for a fiver so I bought 3 then noticed on the receipt I’d scanned them and they’d scanned at 10p so I hastily bought 3 more boxes ?? I promise I won’t eat them all.

I’m not sure if it was a real bargain but I bought a Christmas jumper for me and DH this morning in Lidl just to get into the Christmas spirit at my daughters this Christmas. I’ve looked round the charity shops and the cheap clothes shops but to no avail as I didn’t like them. These are cheap and cheerful.

I too was looking for a Christmas jumper to wear at carol singing, so it had to stand out.
They’re not really my thing so I thought the cheaper the better. I went round the usual high st haunts and had resigned myself to paying £20+ for one that I liked. Then I ventured into Peacocks and there was a sparkly Rudolf top with Pom poms! Under £20 with 20% taken off that!
Bargain.

I love a bargain. Last year I bought a pair of lovely black jeans in M&S, not in the sale but full price - I think £29.50. I took them up to the till and the lady said 'they've come up at £3.99'. She re-checked and said that was what she would charge me. I was SO chuffed. Some months later it happened again in a different M&S.

I was in the chemist waiting for a prescription a few days ago. On the counter were boxes of 3 water filter cartridges, reduced from £5 to 37p! I bought all four boxes - sixteen months supply. It made my day!

The same happened to me, KatyK, only mine were originally £39.99, marked down by 50% and came up at the till at £2.99. It must be a thing with M & S sale trousers. Happy days!

My best ever bargain was when I was shopping at a small local discount shop for cheap prizes for a charity tombola and lucky dip. They had a box of very badly tarnished silver jewellery for 10p per item! I bought loads and they all came up like new after a dunk in silver dip.

It's a lovely feeling when you get a bargain. Well done! ?

Have had loads of bargains and discounts this autumn, but very few of them are for e, so well done!

My best bargain ever was a fancy pure wool coat in an expensive German catalogue - about £250 as I recall and well out of my price range. But I did like it.

Out of curiosity I had a look for the (French) manufacturer on the web and found the same coat on sale at about 2/3 of the cost. Inspired, I looked for a coupon code, and got another 40% off. So in the end I bought the £250 coat for under £100.

Still have it, still wearing it, 5 years later.

Mapleleaf Agree it's a lovely feeling however it is not unusual for me while in this' rosy glow' to then spend what I have saved with this bargain on something else which wasn't 'a bargain'.

This week I bought a lovely M&S dressing gown for £3.99 in a charity shop. I wonder whether it's even been worn (though I washed it, of course.) Lilac colour, good length, and it's cosy!

I was in M&S a few weeks ago sorting my card out. On the way out I noticed a rack of mens items in what could only be the end of sale items. There was a jacket, my husband tried it on. It was a perfect fit. He said I really don't need another jacket. I said at £11.49 you do. It should have cost £115.00. Don't you just love a bargain.☺☺

I found a T shirt I liked the other day, price ticket said £35 but when I got to the till it was £9 cheaper, result.

A few years ago I bought a jumper in the John Lewis sale, I paid £19 and when it came the price tag was £99, a good make so it could be bona fide. It has been worn and worn and lasted fantastically, my favourite jumper and now I've lost it!!

All this talk of Christmas Jumpers, they are a complete waste of money, give the purchase price to a charity. One does not have to wear a Christmas Jumper for Carol singing. We have been Carol signing for over 20 years and not one of us wear these silly jumpers and we somehow with Christmas jumpers manage to collect a substantial sum for charity.

One sometimes does have to wear a Christmas jumper, mabon as for some a little silliness is crucial, and the jumper can then be given to charity. I find a touch of inherent craziness has done wonders for my passage through life
I wonder by 'Ba Humbug' keeps coming into my head....? I hope your carol singing goes well and that you raise lots of money.

I missed a lovely dressing gown from Cotswold. I delayed in ordering it and they have all gone no more in stock except XXL. Would really have loved this item. They are not getting any more in either!

I've ordered a breathable, waterproof jacket by Craghoppers was £99 now £27 so, dear reader, I bought it!

Having decided it was time for a new mattress,I ventured out yesterday to the local bed shop. The choice was alarming. Anything decent seemed to be priced between 700 and 1600 pounds. Wow. Then I passed just what I was looking for. A sprung mattress starting out at 800.00 so it said anyway. Reduced to 180,00 because it had been on display in the shop. Free delivery and including disposing of old mattress. I was so happy with such a bargain.
