I was stunned to find out yesterday that my Grandparents house, where I spent much of my childihood, had been just demolished. It was a lovely house built in the 1930s and with a large garden. I absolutely loved it. Gran left it in the 1970s after Grandad died but after that it was occupied by only one other family. Its near us, or was, and I regularly drive past it always smiling to see it. Now it's gone.
On investigating, I discovered that developers had applied to demolish it but had been refused permission. They just bulldozed it anyway.
Many objections had been lodged by neighbours I now gather but these b*****ds just went ahead and smashed it up.
All that remains are memories but they are wonderful ones.
I'm hoping karma catches up with these unscrupulous men.
