Some of you may remember how underwhelmed a friend was by my present to her on her 70th recently of a gold lariat-style necklace from EAST. Strongly tempted, I had dithered about keeping it for myself (!) but thought better of it as I thought she deserved a nice pressie. It’ll be a voucher next time though.
Well, the other week I arranged for a Bloom and Wild Birthday Bouquet to be sent to another old friend also on her 70th birthday. Not advertising but I really rate this company for their reliability, the freshness of the flowers and how long they last.
Yes I did get a brief message.
I know it is supposed to be better to give than to receive, but is getting things such a let down?
We often castigate children for not saying Thank you, but have some of us older people also lost the art of showing appreciation?
