Rumour has it that he is very very unwell.
Has anyone heard anything?

Anniebach Fri 20-Jul-18 17:53:29

Haven’t heard anything. He has reached a good age so why do I feel sad if he is very ill

BlueBelle Fri 20-Jul-18 18:17:59

What do you mean by rumour ? I haven’t seen any news items about him
I thought he looked poorly at the recent wedding very dark under his eyes but he’s about 96 so won’t go on for ever

Panache Fri 20-Jul-18 18:35:22

He certainly has not really recovered from his last hip operation by the very gauntness of his face complete with dark circles under his eyes seen at Harry & Meghan`s wedding........although of course we have to respect his good age.
I had noticed he has not been seen for a while, but on the other hand that too is perfectly understandable now that he has eventually retired.
Sincerely hoping our fears and those rumours have no real grounding other than he is no longer a very fit man.

PamelaJ1 Fri 20-Jul-18 18:37:33

Apparently there is a thread on twitter that suggests he has died.
However I think he has died a few times before so maybe just fake news.

Eilyann70 Fri 20-Jul-18 18:53:11

I heard that he attended the wedding with a broken rib!

annsixty Fri 20-Jul-18 18:53:56

An item on Google news today set out what will happen when he dies.
I thought it tasteless and macabre.

Fennel Fri 20-Jul-18 19:08:35

I think I read that he had moved into some kind of care home a while ago. Somewhere near Windsor?

PamelaJ1 Fri 20-Jul-18 19:14:26

Annsixty, Maybe thats where the rumour has come from?

BlueBelle Fri 20-Jul-18 19:21:20

Well we re no further forward I thought I read that he’d been left at Sandringham to be looked after
I doubt he d go into a care they ve got the money to care for him at one of their palaces

petra Fri 20-Jul-18 19:23:36

I saw a rumour on FB this afternoon.
Fennel
He moved into one of their own lodges on the Windsor estate.

Fennel Fri 20-Jul-18 19:24:44

Yes it's Sandringham:

Anniebach Fri 20-Jul-18 19:26:48

He wouldn’t be in a care home

Jalima1108 Fri 20-Jul-18 19:43:44

I expect he will be somewhere very private, not a care home.

He was somewhere on the Sandringham Estate not long ago - Wood Farm I believe.

annodomini Fri 20-Jul-18 20:07:36

If it's in the Mail it must be true, so obviously he has his own private 'care home' - no doubt with a full staff on hand for care and nursing as required.

M0nica Fri 20-Jul-18 23:41:40

Why on earth would he go into a care home of any kind when he can stay home with all the support, personal and medical that he could possibly require.

Anniebach Sat 21-Jul-18 08:26:01

Poor man

Blinko Sat 21-Jul-18 08:32:58

Poor both of them. They've been together for so long now. Very sad. I shall miss his personal take on the various royal tours.

Anniebach Sat 21-Jul-18 08:56:31

I think given their ages queenie is prepared for this possibility . If she is widowed the crown will come first as it has always done.

The press will be waiting to see if Phillip goes to Balmoral this summer, this will be show more than any column in a news paper how things are

OldMeg Sat 21-Jul-18 08:58:22

Poor old man.

Mamissimo Sat 21-Jul-18 09:04:02

If Prince Phillip was in a care home we would all have heard about it by now.....he would have sworn at the staff, lost his temper, absconded....set up a board to run it better, flirted with the nurses....it would be all over the red tops!

The Daily Fail explains quite nicely that he’s simply retired and his wife has carried on working. Normal, simples..

merlotgran Sat 21-Jul-18 09:59:35

This used to happen with the Queen Mum. He's probably fine and enjoying the peace and quiet of whichever house he's retired to at Sandringham

I wonder if he'll go to Balmoral?

Nonnie Sat 21-Jul-18 10:03:23

Leave him alone! Not sure I mean that because of course he is an old man but can we just care about him instead of speculating?

Anniebach Sat 21-Jul-18 10:06:44

He is the queens consort, there is bound to be concern/curiosity for the man.

Balmoral will give some sort of answer .

SueDonim Sat 21-Jul-18 12:20:13

The queen is at Balmoral now, as I understand it.
