Husband selfish with the jigsaw!

So we are in our sumner caravan. I get to sort out all the different areas of the jigsaw including the corners and straight edges. Then husband joins in. And when my back's turned he does all the interesting easier bits even though I tell him to do the boring blue sky bits etc. and not to leave them for me. I thought I might set the alarm for really early and do it while he's asleep. Isnt life fun when you're older ? lol

Men!!!

MawBroon Thu 05-Jul-18 20:10:58

You could remove a few key pieces and tell him to finish the damn thing himself grin

Feelingmyage55 Thu 05-Jul-18 20:12:25

Definitely keep one piece. Putting the last pice in is the best.

Luckygirl Thu 05-Jul-18 20:14:23

Yes - hide a few pieces!

Eglantine21 Thu 05-Jul-18 20:16:07

Mix two together!

This is why the lover is so perfect because he prefers the sky. ( he does it purely by shape and thinks it’s cheating to look at the picture first!)

annep Thu 05-Jul-18 20:22:30

Haha. I didn't think of hiding pieces - or mixing- even worse! You're a bad lot! lol.

Nice one Maw ?

gillybob Thu 05-Jul-18 22:09:52

Bloody brilliant ideas from Maw and Eglantine .

I think you should try it annep or else hide a few pieces around the caravan and make him play hide and seek !

We do jigsaws online, and I must admit to sneakily finishing one that DH had almost completed, he was a bit perplexed about it, and thought he had finished it without realising.....until I did the same again later that week! grin
It’s irresistible when there are only about 25pieces left.?

lemongrove Thu 05-Jul-18 22:16:16

The only thing you can do annep is to have a jigsaw each.

Oopsadaisy53 Thu 05-Jul-18 22:31:13

No one else would dare to touch my jigsaw.

annep Thu 05-Jul-18 22:38:04

poor man lemongrove I can imagine how confused he was. Lol.
I think we would have to hide them from each other if we had two. But really its all part of the fun. ?
Online is new to me.
Oh and I will be trying these ideas (shh)

Get a divorce!

Seriously, though, I would be rather pleased if my husband shared my enthusiasm for jigsaws. It would be very companionable.

I didn't know you could do jigsaws online.

Nor mine * Oopsadaisy*

I always leave any sky till last and will sometimes let H do it if I get bored but he has to have permission smile

Now children. You’re in a confined space with only one table? You have to learn to share!

MawBroon Fri 06-Jul-18 07:49:35

This is clearly a LTB scenario.
Oops, thought I was on Mumsnet for a moment grin

Anyone is welcome to pop over and finish off Pubs & Shops of London for me. I’m sick of the sight of it. And it was a charity shop buy, so I can guarantee there’ll be at least one piece missing.

annep Fri 06-Jul-18 08:57:26

Mine are usually charity shop but they are always counted and resealed. LTB? Mawbroon. Its is nice to share- we do the Radio Times and i puzzles and crosswords together as well. But we enjoy time on our own too. (art and guitar) I wonder what pastimes or hobbies others share?

Eglantine21 Fri 06-Jul-18 09:02:06

Oh we could make a foursome annep!

Wednesdays i cryptic was a stinker though........

shysal Fri 06-Jul-18 09:16:41

I started on a brand new jigsaw a while ago. Sorted out the corners and found 5 of them!

Maggiemaybe Fri 06-Jul-18 09:22:20

I bought another from the charity shop last week. Not for me, so I thought I'd just count the pieces before passing it on. There should be 1000 and I counted 1025. confused

ninathenana Fri 06-Jul-18 09:37:17

I've been lucky with charity shop buys. The only one that had a piece missing was one someone had drawn an arrow to the missing area on the lid picture. I bought it anyway as I liked the picture.

annep Fri 06-Jul-18 10:34:32

Eglantine21 not if you do cryptics. My brain cannot think that way no matter how I try.. However today I will have a look at Wednesday's.

Bathsheba Fri 06-Jul-18 10:44:14

Oh I hate sharing jigsaws, can't bear anyone coming in to 'help' angry. I'm the same with crosswords too - buy your own flippin' newspaper to do the crossword, or at the very least take a photocopy and do it yourself!
