Leaky tap in kitchen for weeks now, at last he comes home with bits to mend it. Can't find Allen key right size having turned over garage, I found it straight away. Bits he had bought were too big for taps. First expletives, would have been easier to check first but hey ho. Tools he had bought home didn't fit main bit under sink. All old bits put back and now streaming with taps that go all the way round! Because water turned off all taps and toilets have air locks so I have just been completely sprayed in the face. Love it , I have just laughted my socks off v quietly to myself upstairs while changing to go out for a girly meal, I feel so much better!

Don't knock it, Meno! At least he had a go. We have both a leaky tap and a leaking radiator upstairs in the bathroom and it seems we have to be floating out of the front door before we get the plumber involved!!

Oh dear been there, done that. Taps were imperial, new parts were metric, nothing fitted, new taps bought, pipes were then in the wrong place. Tools couldn't be found - all my fault of course as the garage was full of my c* ! Go back to hardware store for the third time in a day for flexible pipes. Finally sorted after a full day but not before nearly having several apoplectic fits and lots of blue air grin
