BT raised our direct debit by £30 so we checked our bills. Everything was fine but we noticed that we still had our International Calls package (only £5 a quarter) which we don’t now use. DH phoned to cancel it and about two hours later we got an email telling us our direct debit was now another £50 a month. In all the direct debit was double what we were paying two months ago! On the phone again and apparently it was because we made a change it had triggered new terms. We have now had to renegotiate a contract which has better service conditions. The result is we now pay £2 less than the original debit. Does that make sense?
