Goodness, I heard the news broadcast that a boat was in trouble in Loch Fyne but I hadn’t heard that it was this boat. How tragic. It is such a beautiful place and has been a twice yearly destination for us for twenty five plus years. Awful that tragedy should strike there. Will certainly use your link. Hi rocketstop we've also been on holiday to that area several times and the fresh seafood is unforgettable. We don't think about how it gets on our plates. How very sad for the families and the community. I shall donate.

You could try Facebook or Twitter to spread the message, ask people to share or retweet and messages soon spread. Its a lovely part of the world and this is a real tragedy for a small community,

Hi All, thanks for replying.
We are not sure yet how the boat came to capsize as it is still part of a marine accident Investigation board investigation and the findings haven't been released as I understand it.
However, in that kind of fishing, the nets can become entsngled or stuck on something which could make the boat unstable, but that is only hearsay.

There re a lot of things on twitter and facebook. However there is currently no help from the government to help raise the boat and what peopkle are saying is that when people die in aircraft or fires or road accidents, earthquakes etc etc the government helps in the cost of recovering the dead, so why not with this especially as it is not out at sea, but relatively near to the home port.
The viallgers are carryinmg on regardless, and had a coffee morning at the weekend which raised,..wakit for it...£12,000. Yes, you did read that correctly. So good on them and shame on the powers that be for not intervening.

My father's family were merchant seamen going back generations, and though not fishermen, their lives were often in danger on the sea. We always supported the Lifeboat Association.
