No coats politicians

Poor Theresa, I don't think she looks good in anything she wears. To me, she wears dresses that are tight and too short. Her trousers are too short also. As for no coats, do you think it's vanity or stupidity in these freezing temperatures. Even indoors, I'm wearing a shawl/wrap over my top and sweater.

Oh, that dress doesn't look good. Whatever happened to the kind of underwear that Gok used to recommend?

Theresa May is over sixty. She has a decent figure. Women have bulges and round bits; deal with it! as the teenagers in my life would say.

I was just thinking that Baggs only she doesn’t seem to have many lumps and bumps to me ( lucky her) and a decent pair of pins too.
They go from car to number ten so no need to be muffled up I expect.

It depends where you live as well, London is warmer than lots of places.

High school children don't wear coats these days. Nowhere to put them I suppose. We had cloakrooms when I was at school, great for getting up to no good in, probably don't have them now. Mmmm maybe cloakrooms banned at number 10 for same reason.

I thought that dress of hers was particularly hideous. Horrible colour, horrible neckline and too tight. To show I'm not being sexist it's a pity Boris can't spend some of his,considerable wealth on jackets that fit - and perhaps get someone to press them for him occasionally. Of course they could be doing us a favour by appearing without coats. With a bit of luck they might all die of pneumonia (hopefully stuck right at the end of the queue for A&E)

Yes, the back view of Boris disappearing into No 10 today was a rumpled sight to behold. Jeremy also looks smart these days, in an understated way. Pity though, I miss the jumper his mum knitted fir him.

Actually I thought she suited the dress, but it did need better underwear underneath. She's been looking good recently, but I do wonder if she gets any advice from stylists. Most people in such a high profile job are advised on style and with politicians it's all to do with pleasing the voters and looking the part.

She's not my choice for PM, but she is our representative and I just wish she looked more 'finished off' when she's in public. Angela Merkel's is no runway model and even though she sticks to the same format, she always looks good.

I remember newspaper pictures from the early 60’s of when JFK met Khrushchev at some airfield - the latter in a warm coat and Russian fur hat. JFK was in a suit presumably to show how “hard” he was, but rumour hath it he wore his thermals underneath.
I wonder if it all goes back to those days?

Only TM and another woman are not wearing jackets. Perhaps TM didn't anticipate the photos with the new Cabinet members when she chose the dress? All the men still have their jackets on.

It looks like it should have a coat length jacket.

Re jackets the men are wearing... suit jackets don't contain much warmth, do they? I thought they were just thin male cardigans in effect. After all, at other public functions men wear jackets while the women are going around half naked, ergo, I deduce, suit jackets are not worn for warmth.
Either that or all the women's goosepimples get airbrushed out of photos.

Merkel's never changing 'style' does mean her bulges are not commented upon, I suppose.

The bulges I hate most are fat men's tight-shirted bellies. Cover them up with a weskit, they should. (that's not me being wotsisname; it just came out like that).

Men can’t even wear a waistcoat properly half the time - not properly adjusted at the back and too short, allowing the belt on their trousers and often a horrible frill of shirt to show underneath. And don’t get me started on collars and ties! ?‍♀️

Theresa May's proportions are odd. She's very short-waisted with very long legs, and she also seems self-conscious about her height, so she walks and stands in a slumped and awkward fashion. How you carry yourself has a massive effect on the impression you give, and the impression she gives is that she would rather not be here ... hmm, perhaps understandable given the flak she gets?

Trisher,, it's not just Geordies who dress like that, it happens in quite a lot of Northern towns and cities.
As for Chairman May, she wears her dresses too short, but apart from that I think she dresses OK ( and I can't stand her!)Fourth

Honest fashion criticism is one thing, not liking or liking the politician is another.
Mostly T May dresses well, and a bit daringly really, but sometimes misses the mark.
Boris probably wears Savile Row made to measure suits but either can’t help looking rumpled or he rumples his clothes on purpose ( a bit like the hair.)
All public figures must expect criticsim/ appraisal of their fashion sense.
I have never liked how N Sturgeon dresses or A Merkel, usually they go in for the frumpy look.
Corbyn has been smartened up considerably over the last
year, those oversized jackets have vanished at last. The bright red ties he wears are meant to ( unconvincingly) portray ‘an alpha male’.
