Next stop ....the National Lottery

I won the top prize in a raffle at a fashion show in aid of CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland). It was an enormous beribboned basket of toiletries, bath bombs, nick knacks, etc. which I recognised as coming from B & Ms. I asked if they had donated the prize and was told that someone, who had won it in another raffle had handed it in as it was no use to him.

What was I to do with this prize? Neither of us uses the bath anymore due to difficulties getting out and in and it seemed a shame to destroy the gorgeousness of the package to extract the couple of things we would use. Off I went to the care home in the village who looked after Ancient Uncle so well, where they were delighted to have such a fantastic prize for their Christmas Raffle. I declined to buy tickets, in case I won it again, but shall watch out for it appearing in other raffles over the coming year. Bet it has raised several times its value for 3 charities already.

Going to open it on Boxing Day when the DDs and DGC are here. They'll help to demolish it.

If you win/are given lovely toiletries which you won't use, a local Women's Refuge would welcome them; the women who arrive there are often in need of some tlc.

and children's toiletries are welcome too

I always win rubbish prizes eg last year's diary, something which had come 'free' with someone's purchase etc etc. Sister won out of date chocolates!

Well done VQ and Granny23 always nice to win a raffle prize. I wonder if the winner of the bath set toiletries will use them, or pass it on to another raffle.
I bet you won’t be giving up your choccy FC though VQit will last you a week, one bite of him a day.

Our WI collected for womens refuges at Christmas, they wanted small bottles, packets etc of toiletries, things that could be used just a few times over the Christmas period.
