Time flies

I think it is a proportionate thing. At 10, 10 years is a life time. At 40 it is a 25% of a lifetime and at 80, 12.5% of a life time and I think that proportionate feeling works down to years, months, weeks, hours and minutes.

My DH always says “what, bin day again ? It does seem to come around quickly, and yes, so do Saturdays!
Wish life would slow down.

It's always month end - even in the middle of the month we're working on month end - it's no b*** wonder time is flying so fast!!

Each morning as DH comes downstairs, I greet him with a smile, a 'good morning' or some such. Some days I say "Didn't I already say that? Oh, must have been yesterday "

I think you've got it spot on M0nica my grandma lived to be 99 and she used to say that a day passed by like an hour and a week like a day..... she explained it exactly as you said as a proportion to how long you have lived.

If you think back to when you were a child, Christmas, birthdays, holidays etc seemed ages to come along and as you get older you start to think "oh my goodness it can't be Christmas again already can it?"

It's Christmas that gets to me - it surely cannot be Christmas next month - I have bits not tidied away from last time!!!

It is to do with proportions because if you are ten years old then a year is a tenth of your life, but for me it is 1/70th.
Does that make sense? A year for me goes by in a blink but it is a long time for a child.
And also time goes much faster when you are over the hill and hurtling down the other side, gaining speed as you go!
