I discovered on Twitter that Wednesdays are called hump days. I presume it's because you're over the hump of the working week when Wednesday's over.

glammanana Wed 15-Nov-17 10:22:20

The week-end has always been nearer once Wednesday is out of the way.

Christinefrance Wed 15-Nov-17 10:29:43

Was that an instruction on Twitter
Baggs ?

Anniebach Wed 15-Nov-17 10:32:31

I was born on a Wednesday ,mmmm, explains much ?

I've always hated Wednesdays. It was the day at school when we had the (to me) dreaded gymnastics lesson which terrified me---scared of heights, a total rabbit and always got shouted at by the gym mistress. Thursdays, in contrast, are lovely---they were always so because they were the furthest away from Wednesday.

Wednesdays have never worried me. I take each day as it comes, good or bad. Wednesdays are fun for me at present. I go out and meet my friends at Knit & Natter. It's the highlight of my week. I must lead a sheltered life.

I don't mind Wednesdays - normally we try to golf but today we have to stay in for the boiler man so we are spring/autumn cleaning to get warm!!

Alima Wed 15-Nov-17 11:24:44

It hasn’t really bothered me today, I keep thinking it is Thursday ......

gillybob Wed 15-Nov-17 11:30:41

I don't mind Wednesdays. As glammanana says its a step nearer to the weekend and not being at work.

It's Mondays I hate...... and Sunday nights.

I think I am wishing my life away. Sunday night wishing it was Friday.

gillybob Wed 15-Nov-17 11:33:43

Apparently I was born on a Tuesday... Must've been a day early.

annsixty Wed 15-Nov-17 11:35:34

Wednesday is the only week night we have wine with our meal so I really look forward to it.
A full bodied red tonight with the lasagne I have just made ,ready for the oven, garlic bread, still in the freezer and a salad, greens are washed and in the fridge drawer.

NanaandGrampy Wed 15-Nov-17 11:36:57

We've always called them 'Hump Day Wednesday' middle of the week. The GC think its funny !

ps Can I pop in Ann sounds delicious !!

kittylester Wed 15-Nov-17 11:39:02

I'm coming round Ann!

Wednesday is my school run day. It's good to see the grandchildren but I don't get home till 7 so I'm generally jiggered!

merlotgran Wed 15-Nov-17 11:47:19

DH goes fishing on a Wednesday so it's a day to myself. I really should be getting on with cleaning the windows inside because the cat makes such a mess preening herself on the windowsills.

Karcher battery is all charged up so why am I not doing it?

Maybe I'll start when I've finished this mug of coffee.

Jane10 Wed 15-Nov-17 12:32:49

Wednesdays were always my favourite days as we always used to go to Gran and Grandads for tea. Happy happy memories. I still like Wednesdays for that reason.
I only hope I can have as longlasting a positive effect on my own DGCs.

JackyB Wed 15-Nov-17 12:54:51

I always used to get hiccoughs on a Wednesday. I put it down to the fact that school lunch was always a salad on that day!

vampirequeen Wed 15-Nov-17 13:52:07

Eglantine21 grin

'Wednesday's child is full of woe'.......Wednesdays must have always been a miserable day grin

downtoearth Wed 15-Nov-17 14:49:16

DanniRae Wed 15-Nov-17 16:14:36

I don't mind Wednesday - like already mentioned I keep thinking it's Thursday confused

Menopaws Wed 15-Nov-17 18:27:26

It's my only day off so I love it as I work weekends so it breaks the week up nicely, lovely lie in, longer dog walk, me time to do what I want, lunch with a friend etc

Jalima1108 Wed 15-Nov-17 19:21:21

My DM used to call Wednesdays her 'day off'. Even after retirement she had a fairly strict routine and kept busy but Wednesdays were always more relaxed.

Coolgran65 Wed 15-Nov-17 20:57:39

Many years ago I used to love a Wednesday afternoon. I was in a job I hated and Wed afternoon meant the week was more than half over.

downtoearth Thu 16-Nov-17 08:30:59

Friday is my favourite day, complete opposite to wednesday perhaps I am building myself up for Fridayshmm
