Just discovered on line that the founder of "Playboy", Hugh Hefner has died aged 91.
I'm wondering if I'm alone here, but he gave me the heebie jeebies and his name always transports me back to the very sexist '70s when I was late teens early 20s working in London. The Playboy club was a very going concern at that time. I absolutely loathed the way women, who worked in that club as "buny girls" were reduced to sexualised bits of fluff. Would such an establishment be promoted today the way it was then?
It seemed he lived out his remaining years as an aging lascivious old roue, true to form. Perhaps I am being unkind but his name will always be synonomous with the worst of that era and his legacy for me will be just that.
