I loved his voice and went to see him on tour in Yorkshire in the 1980s. He was fantastic - a gentle giant with a voice like melted chocolate. RIP.

I can't say I know who this is! I'll look him up.

Oh dear I hadn't heard that he had gone - fantastic voice, beautiful songs - I agree "You're my best friend" has got to be one of his best if not the best.

That's one of the problems with ageing - losing people, both family and others who have had an impact on your life. Must count oneself fortunate to experience this after all as the alternative is to not!!!

I loved Don Williams too . Such a gentle quite man. Loved his music. Saw him so many times I've lost count . My favourite (recent) song " I just come here for the music" makes me cry ( do look it up ) .

RIP Don you have made me so happy over the years and got me through a broken marriage, illness and so much more . Xx

I recall a gypsy woman was my favourite. My old Dad had lots to his music, very gentle to listen to.

Went to see him in Wembley years ago - magical. Still play his music.
