It's the perennial complaint, isn't it? Very few men do notice what we wear; however, I live the other side of the coin.
My husband started his working life as a window dresser (and yes, he is 100% straight, if you were wondering) so he does notice what I wear and his opinion if I am in doubt is always worth listening to. If he buys me clothes (mainly the underwear he wants to see me in) IT FITS!
Ruddy marvel, ain't he?
The down side is that more than once I have for the sake of peace discarded or not bought something I really wanted because I could not be bothered discussing the matter with him. Also, on the very rare occasions he has given me a present which I did not care for, I can't like other women just assume that he will never notice whether I wear it or not, so have to risk hurting him by saying that it wasn't quite me.
So there are disadvantages of having a DH who notices what one is wearing.
Once when I was about 27 I bought a pair of jeans that fitted my backside so snugly that even my father noticed them, and he was quite definitely the kind of husband and father the rest of you are talking about, so it is possible to get them to notice your clothes.
