Couldn't really think of a title for this little story but I would like to share it with you anyway.
This morning after dropping the children at school I called into the chemist attached to my doctors surgery to pick up a prescription. Sitting waiting I was joined by an elderly gentleman who I guessed to be well into his 80's . He invited me to view the contents of a carrier bag he was holding. It was full to the brim with packets of Jammi Dodger biscuits ! " Oh someone likes biscuits" I said . His reply " well dear you see I bring them for the girls and boys in the chemist every time I pick mine and my wife's medicines up. You see they won't take any money for the medicine and we get an awful lot of things..... "
I wasn't sure what to say so just quietly said " I think when you reach a certain age you no longer pay for your medicines so you shouldn't worry about it" his reply "yes dear I think you might be right but we don't take charity "
Bless him I didn't know what to say to that and it might be that taking the biscuits in return for his medicines makes him feel better.
