We always seem to import the more annoying American habits , hugging being one of them. I kiss family members and hug some of them , like my granddaughters. However, it now seems to be common to hug total strangers . I don't want to hug strangers, it's too intimate and should only be done to those you love. Shaking hands should be sufficiently friendly , kissing to be done only after a length of time has passed .
You’re the receptionist. What would you have done?
Reducing contact because my heart just isn't in it.
Even men kiss eachother sometimes, but more often shake hands.I find it awkward though, prefer a handshake. Parents train their young children to kiss older visitors, which is nice.
