I'm not a bargain hunter as I cant stand the crowds in the shops but of course the internet offers many opportunities. I have just bought some Denby pottery which is 40% off which I think is a bargain. Anyone nabbed anything good yet?

A lovely soft and warm grey and silver lurex jumper from EAST online, before Christmas from JL so I was able to pick it up from Waitrose. £95 reduced to £47 and as I had been given a £25 JL gift card, effectively £22 to me!

I'm hunting round Oxford Street today.

I nipped into Peter Jones yesterday for some bits and bobs and was horrified to see that the sale had started tchshock

Where do people get the energy from? I got my bits and scarpered!

On-line sale shopping for me too.

We never go out between Christmas and New Year - I hate the crowds etc but this year we did buy something online.

We need a new hoover which Grampy was in charge of buying and got an email about John Lewis Sale. He had already done the research so we knew we had a shortlist of 3 and lo and behold one was in the sale at a great price.

Better yet when he went to check out it automatically price matched and took another £30 off and gave us free delivery!!

Now that's what I call a pain free bargain smile

Am with others who hate the thought of the Sales, have always felt this way, so not an 'old' thing, dislike crowds, pushing and shoving.I suppose I should look online, but there is nothing that we need.

I was too ill to go out but my daughter went to Boots and got me two No7 gift sets half price, full of skincare products that I use. I paid for them with Boots points.

Bath was empty first thing this morning. Bought two new bras 60% off in Jolly's which was great and treated myself to two books in Waterstones so I'll be curling up with them and a hot chocolate this afternoon trying to get rid of this blasted cough.

We're looking for two new armchairs, difficult to buy on line as sitting in them is important. Milton Keynes was the nearest place where all the shops were in one place.
We set off early, but what a nightmare of crowds! Never again!

Bonus was popping into a Currys on the way home and getting a Dyson cordless at a £200 reduction. Every cloud and all that!

Had selected a new carpet I was going to buy but decided to wait to see if there was any reduction on it in the January sales. No such luck! However gentleman has just been to measure and estimate so it's all systems go...... Yippee!

On the 27th there were traffic jams to get into our small retail park. My friend told me, on her way to me she needed some bananas but decided to forget it. Could not be bothered with all the fighting over a parking space. With a possible collision. Although I know one colleague who is at Next at 6 am on sales morning buying all nightwear for next years Christmas Presents!!

Teetime Wed 28-Dec-16 14:44:48

Neversaydie Wed 28-Dec-16 15:09:22

Tried to buy some large Yankee Candles on Boots online sale and they were sold out. Walked into Boots yesterday and there they were. Bought them along with other half price items for my present cupboard, then realised I could hardly carry them after op on my hand! Had to walk all the way back to my car with them, before I could do anymore bargain hunting.tchgrin

Got boxes of Christmas cards for £1, instead of £5 in M&S, so quite happy.

Nana05 Wed 28-Dec-16 15:41:09

I placed 4 orders on M&S sale online on Christmas Eve, collected them from store today some items will be returned but those I have kept including items for new grandson are genuinely half price

WildRoses Wed 28-Dec-16 15:47:51

Got some luxurious Elemis things this morning from John Lewis. It was half the previous Xmas price and indivually the items are worth 4 times what I paid. Very happy. Love elemis bit it's very expensive normally.

A beautiful mottled dark red cotton jumper for my little grandson. Reduced in M and Co from £17 to £10. Very happy with it.

keriku Wed 28-Dec-16 18:01:49

I used my Boots points to get 4 items for free, then used my Debenhams Beauty Card points to get an item which had been £15 for only £2.50! These will all be used as gifts or raffle prizes. I also bought some posh cards for next Christmas

Thebeeb Wed 28-Dec-16 18:12:26

Shoes that I've been hunting for, for ages. Real bargain necklace but very like one I have already got and bras that I definitely don't need. Probably on the case tomorrow too. I love a mooch round the sales.

Spangles1963 Wed 28-Dec-16 18:19:40

I'm pretty skinny after Christmas, but I did manage to buy some tubes of Munchies chocolates, reduced reduced from £1 to 50p,in Wilkinson's. Also,4 selection boxes which were meant to be £3 each for £1.25. That's my sweet supplies sorted for the next month couple of months.tchgrin

Spangles1963 Wed 28-Dec-16 18:20:35

SKINT! Not skinny! I wish

Thebeeb Wed 28-Dec-16 18:22:23

Had chuckle at that Spangles brilliant slip up after Christmas!!!

Legs55 Wed 28-Dec-16 18:29:50

Bought a jumper in M & S Outlet shop in December at 40% off. Too ill (& broke) for sales but DD & DGS went out yesterday & got several bargains, DD for baby expected in May & DGS spent his Christmas money. Next at 9 just down the road from DD was fairly quiet which is unusual, normally they're queuing out of the car parktchconfused
