Well, mixed feelings about the coming year for me. I have to have tests for different conditions within the next month or two and then take it from there, depending on test results, so that is worrying and brings apprehension.

On the bright side of life, I am getting a stair lift soon, getting a different car in March to get my current mobility scooter in to use in shops etc., getting another mobility scooter which is more comfortable for lumpy pavements and have the task of re designing DS's bedroom. Plus the garden wants some attention and I intend to take up some new hobbies.

So, that's me then. What does 2017 hold for you? smile

I dread to think. I'm retiring so I hope I'll settle into a new way of life. Otherwise we have to learn to live Day to day I hope it's a good year for you though rubylady

A new left hip if I'm lucky not looking forward to it but it will mean a lot less pain for me. OH and I plan on a few more trips away in the UK once my surgery is over with .

Humbertbear Sun 18-Dec-16 22:23:03

I'm looking forward to two big trips abroad with my daughter and my replacement hip which has been doing very well for the last three years. Nothing to it, Tanith.

rubylady I hope your tests are favourable and that anything that may be present can be quickly treated. I am in a similar position having had a hysteroscopy and biopsies on Friday but don't expect to hear any results until the New Year. Other than that we are looking forward to our first cruise in May and hopefully some improvements at golf but we hope for that every year!!!

BBbevan Mon 19-Dec-16 09:39:59

Hopefully a grandchild from my daughter, and a wedding which is booked, from my son.

Charleygirl Mon 19-Dec-16 09:44:56

It appears to be the year of surgery, I hope to have my left knee replaced to match my right knee, a super smooth Genesis 2.

DotMH1901 Mon 19-Dec-16 10:58:49

I am hoping that my house will finally be sold (been to the exchange of contract stage before and lost our sale due to a breakdown of the chain below our Buyer). Moving with my daughter and three grandchildren so has taken ages to find a suitable house (daughter being very picky) but we have finally found one we all agree on. Don't want to lose it so fingers, toes and everything crossed the sale of my house goes through for January 2017. Been living in a small rented house for 12 months and we are starting to get on each others nerves now.

2017 is the year in which I wil be 80. I am utterly amazed that I have lived this long.
It will be the year of learning to walk without limping now that I have two replacement knees (good luck,Charleygirl).
On the gloomy side, it's another year of trying to stave off loneliness. But on the other hand, it's time to stop feeling sorry for myself and appreciate the fact that I already have three litle holidays planned.

annsixty Mon 19-Dec-16 11:52:13

I also will be 80 next year Henetha and if I recall we are very near in age. Mine will be July. My knee, replaced in August, is brilliant so hope yours is too, soon. It was my first though.

ninathenana Mon 19-Dec-16 12:52:38

We have a long weekend booked for April with dear friends, which I'm so looking forward too. We've never been away together despite being friends for 45 yrs.
As for the rest of the year, who knows !

Jane10 Mon 19-Dec-16 13:53:37

I'm in the new knee club but not so happy with mine. I really hope things improve and that I don't need another procedure.
More positively, book 2 should be out early in the new year. I just hope it does as well as book 1.

Synonymous Mon 19-Dec-16 14:17:59

I hope that 2017 will be a real turn around year for you Rubylady and it certainly sounds as if you are set on the right course. wine flowers

I am looking forward to all the new developments in our (now not so new) garden and hopefully seeing a whole panoply of colour and texture with glorious, wafting, perfumed flowers. It is so wonderful to be able to get out into a garden again.smile

DH is retiring, so we will be rethinking our lives and having a few holidays.

Daisyboots Mon 19-Dec-16 17:06:09

At the moment 2017 will bring the arrival of my second greatgrandson in April and the wedding of my eldest niece. Her father (my brother) died earlier this year so I want to help her have the wedding she wants. Plus my DH and I have only been back together for six months so hoping for more of the same happiness in 2017.

rosesarered Mon 19-Dec-16 17:08:34

A Jewish friend once told me this joke......'if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!' tchgrin black humour, but possibly good advice not to.
DH, after retiring ten years ago, is going back to work for a portion of this year( he has done this on a on and off basis for years.)He says it keeps his brain ticking over.
We have booked a holiday abroad for early Summer for two weeks.Other than that, we shall see how the year develops.
Good luck to all that will be having surgery or simply have bad health, let us hope this coming year will be better for you.?

Theoddbird Mon 19-Dec-16 18:42:18

I am retiring and I am going to buy a narrow boat to live on. I have planned my life as a single person...had chance of a relationship but turned it down...hahaha. So a new adventure is in front of me at the age of 66...
