I have at long last persuaded Dh that it's nicer to gave the loo seat down in the downstairs shower room. He has started putting the lid down too
Fine until 3 year old dgd backed on to the loo not realising that she was sitting on the lid not the seat.
She needed and wee and a poo! Oh dear. 
Kittylester. That reminds me of my DGD who was taken to a wedding when aged 3. The toilets at the venue had glass lids. My daughter who was in the cubicle with her didn't notice that she had sat on the lid. (due to the long party dress she was wearing) until she heard the sound of water running onto the floor.
All this was about 5mins before the bride was about to appear
My daughter used a toilet in B and Q when she was little!
