My OH was going into town, and said, as he had the car, he would bring back some loo rolls. Great. On his return, he came into the kitchen and told me that he thought the BIG shrink wrapped packs were 2 for £5.00, as that is what it said on the label. No. The 2 for £5.00 are two packs of 18 rolls. He said that they wanted to charge £15.00, so realised his mistake. Mind you, at the rate he gets through them, perhaps we should have the BIG packs grin. The last time he went to get them, he came back to the car with Kitchen Roll. confused. Mind you, I'm glad he can still make me laugh out loud after nearly 55 years.

The men are copping it today. Just returned from a thread about men and gardening. My sister was poorly. So wrote a shopping list, which included 1/2 lb of cheese. Her OH folded the note in half and came back with 2 lbs of cheese! Being only 2 of them, it was a 'cheesy meals' week! They just can't be trusted! So I guess it helps if we can laugh at them! smile

Well I've sent Grampy to pre school to pick up DGS3 !!

I hope he brings back the right child !!

After major surgery and I was home again, one of my male neighbours offered to buy mushrooms for me and came home with 3 lb. How he thought I was going to get through that lot as they do go "off" quite quickly, I do not know. I live on my own so I only need a few for each main meal.

That would make a lot of soup, Charley. You can slice mushrooms up and freeze them either raw or cooked in whatever way you like.

NanaandGrampy - I did read not too long ago, of a grandfather being sent to collect granddaughter from school to go to the doctors, it wasn't until the doctor asked her name and she replied, that grandfather realised it was the wrong child. What the teachers were thinking about does not bear comment.

Never mind the teachers. How did the Hrandfather not realise he had the wrong child? I hope he has been stripped of the title.

You will all be relieved to know Grampy did a sterling job !

However , I am reliably informed by a source who shall remain nameless (DD2) that Grampy was mugged in the sweet shop !!

When I was getting DD1 aged 6 months into her Christening robe I realised she needed some new white socks and asked DH to nip to the shop for a pair of size 0-2. He came back with a pair for girl's shoe size 2. How did he ever think they could be right? They were at least 6 inches long!

One holiday in Portugal, I asked my OH to buy a few sardines when he was at the fish market. He did. A carrier bag full to bursting, all needing to be cleaned, gutted etc. I gave most of them away! I've never let him forget it!
