I've read somthing from the 'the other side (musnet) that coincided with somthing my 7 year old granddaughter told me at the weekend. I've always encourage my grandchildren to climb small trees, balance along paths and stairs. It's always under my close supervision. I know there's a very small risk of a fall but it's good for their balancing skills and increases their confidence makes them think ahead. We count and talk as we go. My granddaughter over heared a mother tell her daughter it was a very stupid thing to do. I didn't hear, my granddaughter was a little upset and we talked it over. During the conversation she told me that some of her friends and one of her cousins had told her that her mum was getting fat. Now my daughter in law is very striking in a Spanish sort of way, I think very attractive. She has put on weight because of the drugs to control her serious illness. What I'm getting at is why aren't people kind anymore. If they can't be kind why don't they keep their opinions to themselves or at the very least explain to their offspring that everyone is different and has a different way of doing things and it's unkind and rude to pass remarks. Oh no it's a grumpy thread
sorry.
