Honestly, I sometimes feel we have a big sign out front, saying "Parcel Drop Off Point". We're not the only retirees in our part of the road - there is an older couple next door and another couple three doors down - but we seem to be the ones who take everyone's parcels in for them. We've had two this morning, and I'm afraid I did have a bit of a moan at the second one. I did quickly apologise though, because I know it's not the delivery person's fault!
There is one fellow a couple of doors down who has a regular delivery of wine - a big box - and he's always at work. The other day someone across the road was out when there were two big and very heavy parcels for them. Then they came to collect them while they could see I was outside cleaning my car. Oh don't worry, I'll just stop what I'm doing, turn the hose off, don't mind me
. On the rare occasions when we're not in, there is never anyone to take our parcels in for us - we have to traipse down to the Royal Mail depot, or ring TNT to arrange another date.
DH said we should just stop answering the door to them if we know it's not for us. (Mind you, that ploy would have meant me not getting my unexpected iPad win from GN a couple of weeks ago
)
Ann Droid, anyone watched this? BBC 1
What was directly across the road from the school you went to?
Good Morning Saturday 1st August 2026
Odd - weird and wonderful - almost unbelievable - or is it just me?
Has anyone else noticed their energy levels change as they've got older?

Oh well, I suppose that's one thing that is guaranteed - no matter what is posted on GN, there will always be some who are hostile, if not downright rude
