Cherry you can get clips/grips/ties to keep the wires under control, even hair spray to keep hair under control but have never seen anything for controlling aliens or gremlins!

I saw some headphones a while back which are on a curly wire which retracts into a cover so they never tangle. I wish they'd invent something like that for all wires and blinds. I've just spent 5 minutes at 6am this morning perched on the back of the sofa in the conservatory trying to untangle the vertical blind cords - we have two end to end and all 4 cords get mixed up on a regular basis

It's definitely gremlins! I saw this 'item' offered on my local Freegle, why am I not surprised that it hasn't been taken!

Willow Tie the two ends together that belong together, then you have two loops instead of four ends. Or hand something heavy on each of the ends so that they hang straighter and don't fly round each other.

It used to be that the cords for blinds were joined in a loop, but these days there is concern for children playing with them and getting caught in a twisted loop, so they keep the two ends separate. If you are afraid of that happening, get one of those double hooks to twist the looped cord round to hold it up out of the way - but then you have to unwind it to raise or lower the blinds.

I had a whinge to DH about all the leads behind the tv/cd/player/humax box/dvd player/redundant sky box getting all tangled up together; can you buy tubes to enclose them?
We don't have Venetian blinds but I did regularly get the ones in DD's rented house in a mess when I was staying. They were quite heavy wooden blinds - and in every room!

Thanks Elegran I'll have a look and see if I can do that. As well as the two cords for opening and closing the vertical slats there are also the two cords for opening them both sideways so the whole lot gets tangled up. We've no children here so that's not a worry - just the danger of me falling off the sofa

I was in Trago Mills recently and wanted to buy some hook and loop tape, which is sold by the metre. I found it eventually, several 12" square boxes of different width/colour tape, each with a slot for the tape to feed through, you know the sort of thing. Except, being a self service store, people had pulled out long lengths of each one and not rewound them into the boxes. The very nature of the stuff meant that it was not only tangled, but all hooked and looped together. In one huge tangled mess.
I called an assistant. I left her sitting on the floor while I went off to browse elsewhere for half an hour

Aliens and gremlins have infiltrated the garage. We have boxes in there like your picture shysal.
Some contain wires (not sure for what) others have 21st century stuff computer leads, mobile phone leads,etc just in case stuff
Not sure Repunzel would have liked my hair Jalima. When they called it flyaway hair they had me in mind.

My pleasure Cherry, somehow it is always me who has to sort out the tangles wherever I go so I go for tangle evasion/avoidance nowadays.

We have a horrible tangle of wires at the back of our tv and everytime my best friend comes to visit she comments on it because she can't stand tangled wires. I just smile politely. Between March and October sorting out tangles - in fishing line - is just about all i do! I seem to spend more time doing that than actually fishing. I'm getting quite good at it though and it can be quite therapeutic. On the occasions it is not therapeutic - in a howling gale or pouring rain - i just cut the whole lot off and start again!

You can get a cover for cables looks a bit like a garden hose don't know what it's called but it does enclose all cables behind tv

We bought a lovely Oak dvd storage/cable box unit and stand the tv on that. Voila...tangled wires at the back are out of sight and out of mind !

Trago Mills!!! There is a lovely piece on one of the Mock the Week shows where a west country comedian (don't know his name apologies) cites Trago Mills for something or another to purchase and Daira (sorry if that's wrong) turns it into a sketch where Trago Mills is the new Bond villain - very funny you might pick it up on You Tube.
