My new face cream works !!

Great news! You must be so flattered!

I'd be worried. Have you been making a lot of spelling mistakes? Odd grammar?

Can we all know what it is please? This is the other side of the coin to when you are asked in shops and public transport if you qualify for a discount or have a travel pass when in your 50's.

Apparently a name that included Nana and an account stuffed with pictures of my grandchildren and myself was not a big enough clue :-)

Hopefully not too many spelling mistakes Jingl ! I refuse to use 'text talk' and I even generally use full sentences :-)

Last week I went from young, (chemist asked me to pay for my prescription ) to old (young girl offered me her seat on the train ). All in the space of a few hours.

Well, I have aged speedily too, I now have my account back but I cant be called Nana anything according to the powers that be ! Obviously too confusing for a 59 year old woman to be called Nana !!

I was behind a woman in the checkout queue in my local Morrison's recently. She was buying alcohol and was politely asked if she had any ID. She was rather thrown by this request and had to admit she had no ID but was 37 years old! I was fully expecting (or more likely hoping) to be asked for ID in my turn but no such luck. False optimism at 63, I guess Clinique, did you say?

Kind friends pointed I had no age restricted items in my basket. Where would we be without our mates?

Ah! Clearing. I'm flying at the end of the month so will check out the duty free shop

Well I use a Clarins face cream but I think it's more down to some faceless Facebooker than anything ;-)

I love this thread. Well I got half fare on the buses till I was 21! Things went down rapidly from then on but this year I was knocked down by a car which was painful and traumatic but the local news report said I was 'a woman in her fifties'. I am 67. Every cloud......

my OH would settle for the beer its cheaper and has the same effect...he reckons after two cans I look so much better

My local pub gives a discount on lunch for "seniors". One of these days they will ask for ID and it will so be all over my Facebook page that I was "carded" in a pub!

My lovely step-father was once refused a tube of glue in a hardware store, by a young assistant, unless he had a letter from his mother. He was at least 70 at this point.

If I could just findmy new face cream, I'd be over the moon. Sigh!

I don't believe in paying lots of money for face creams, research has proved that not necessarily the most expensive is the best. I have used Nivea cream (in blue tin) since my teens, like my grandmother and my mother. I am often taken for at least 10 years younger than I really am! My mother is 90yrs old and people think she is about 80 in fact Christmas, someone who did not know her actually commented on what a beautifully soft skin she had, and hardly any wrinkles. I rest my case!!
