Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi! I am a Nannie to seven wonderful grandchildren whose ages range from 18 moths to 15 years.
I am an Essex girl and was born in Clacton. I lived there until 2008 but now live in a beautiful smallholding near Colchester. I have had many different jobs in my time but am now running my own business. It would be great to chat with some of you!

Hello Cindr - lovely to meet you! smile. You'll notice that there's a thread near the top of the Forum list entitled 'Welcome to new members'? It might be helpful for you to pop a post on there, so that you don't get 'lost'! Hope you enjoy GN. Looking forward to reading your posts.

Hi Cindyr, welcome. You obviously have green fingers! The smallholding must be hard work, but you look good on it! flowers

Welcome to you both smile
Come on in, join in with the chat on whatever thread takes your fancy. Or start your own.
I agree it would be a good idea for both of you to post on the 'Welcome New Members' thread. If you go to the active page it's at the top.

Welcome mistybeaver, you are good at the acronyms! Are you not quite sure whether your SIL is lovely? grin I look forward to your future contributions. flowers

Welcome both - I spent a large chunk of my childhood in Essex - we lived in Hadleigh and I went to school in Rayleigh. Left when I was 16 and have never been back! - I am sure I would not recognise it.

Hello Cindyr and welcome. I am from up North but spent a summer holiday working in Essex, staying with my friend in Earls Colne and her sister in Colchester. We were blackberry picking and apple picking and I then moved with another friend to Tiptree for the strawberry picking. Happy days!

Pittcity Wed 04-Nov-15 08:30:27

Hello and welcome Cindyr
I am in Colchester too. Have you looked at the local Colchester pages? We are hoping to arrange to meet up soon.

Cindyr Wed 11-Nov-15 18:31:42

Hi, ok I'll have a look and would be interested in meeting up! Thankyou

Cindyr Wed 11-Nov-15 18:33:36

Sounds lovely! I used to take my children fruit picking every autumn, but they don't take sir children fruit picking! It's sad that the old ways of parents taking their children foraging for free food is getting less and less.

Cindyr Wed 11-Nov-15 18:34:54

Thankyou Hilda I will!

Cindyr Wed 11-Nov-15 18:37:24

Thankyou Marelli, I could not see the welcome to new members but there is a watch thread button so I clicked in that! I'm not sure I am replying in the right place here!

Hello lucky girl, yes I know Hadleigh. Actually my son got married there in a big old mansion! It is beautiful. I'll find out the name as you might remember it.
