motion sesitive camera

I have one which cost about £150 a year ago. Is that the sort of price you had in mind? It is very easy to set up, and works by daylight when there is any or infra-red when there isn't. It does stills or video, and I think it is absolutely wonderful.

I also have a Little Acorn, which is battery operated. trail camera I used it to monitor the comings and goings of a semi-feral cat, and it did the job perfectly, in darkness or daylight. I note that there are many cheaper trail cameras on Ebay, especially if you buy from China, but I can't comment on their efficiency.
Of course, as you have electricity, there may be a better option out there.

We have 4 set up outside, 2 at the back and 2 at the front. I can`t remember the make, but our son bought the first 2 as a gift from Maplins, and set them up for us. I don`t know how much he paid for the original setup,but we paid £100 for the other 2 cameras, same make, but different model. He bought them after someone tried cutting the glass in our back door during the night, and the one at the front came in useful a few months ago when some kind person left a box full of rubbish on our front step. He looked back through the footage, and gave the relevant bit to the council, who are trying to stamp out dumping of rubbish, and it goes on a lot down our bit of the river bank.

Meant to add, they need to be dusted over regularly, our son has the system set up to send messages to his mobile phone, and he regularly gets emails from spiders who have made webs across the camera lenses, and every time they move, he gets an email!

We have an "acorn" one too in the chicken shed. If you do get one and password protect it don't forget the password like I have!!!

We couldn`t remember the password last week, but between 4 of us we found it eventually by trial and error, lots of errors!

My son says it`s very distracting when he`s on nights!

I didn't buy the emailing attachment - it cost as much as the camera!

Many thanks for your replies - The fox cubs are delightful Elegran and the pictures are a very high standard - Had hoped I might get away with paying a bit less for the Camera though! I am going to investigate the cheaper one that Shysal has. I do want it to monitor cats initially but I guess I might then be able to spy on the wildlife in the garden too. I also chuckled at spiders sending e-mails!
I hope you don't get any more people trying to break in or dump rubbish, numberplease. There are some really horrible people out there but equally there are some really nice ones too!
