Realised around lunchtime that I had a bladder infection (the first for 6 years - thank you Vagifem!) so i rang 111 at around 3pm. I had been going to wait and see the practice nurse tomorrow but things were getting worse! The triage nurse was fabulous, friendly but efficient. She said someone would ring with an on call gp appointment within 6 hours. As soon as I put the phone down it rang with a nurse at our local UCC offering me a 4 pm appointment! The on call gp was lovely, efficient and very friendly! We were home by 4.30 with my tablets!
And, the bonus is that the lovely doctor is a new partner in our practice!

As you said on the "other" thread, kittyl not many responses on this thread. I feel we are often too quick to take what the NHS has to offer for granted and only talk about it when things go wrong 
As often seems to be the case in the media, good news doesn't make news
