I don't know about Russia but when a Polish child went to her teacher's wedding she took a bunch of flowers for the bride. The Poles seem to use flowers a lot.

I have Googled Russian wedding traditions. One thing that stood out was the fact that everyone is expected to get really drunk ! It seems that if they don't then the bride and groom didn't supply enough alcohol

I know I was looking for info on gifts as well, but just meant a little something traditional for new resident in our country to make her welcome.
