I knocked over a glass of milk on my bedside cabinet.. two drawers were open. It also went over the bed. It was 2am and DH was fast asleep. !!! But not for long

DH had someone who worked for him whose favourite expression when sorely tried was 's**t, b****r, a******e' - that would seem to fit this situation quite well!

We now just say 'SBA'!

It certainly would kitty I have done everything except pull out the cooker - I will do that later when it cools down a tad. But SBA it is

I remember my DD aged about 6, vomiting over the side of the bed into the underbed toy drawer, which was sticking out. I will never forget trying to scrape it off all the tiny bits of lego, dolls, books etc - quite revolting!

In that situation Mishap I think I would either have put the whole lot in the bath or into a pillow case, tied securely and put on a short wash in the machine!

DS was twice sick at Christmas following a chocolate binge. Each time at the top of the stairs. Each time he leaned on the bannister to call me.

Each time I kept finding odd brown spots in out of the way places on the walls and paintwork in the hall as well as the stairs for months.

Oh gosh Flickety that brings back a memory! DS1 (now 36!) standing at the top of our rather steep staircase calling "Mummy I feel sick!" I started up the stairs towards and then beat a hasty retreat to try and stay ahead of the torrent of vomit that seemed to bounce off every stair.

I'm now going to be so careful with the jug of eggs when I whip them up for my teatime omelette...

What a mess. but I sam sure we have all done it sometime or other.

I have told this one before. I was carrying an oven hot red pepper and goats cheese flan to the car to take it round to friends. I had the flan tin in a bigger baking tray. It started slipping as I got onto our front path and in trying to save it flopped upside down onto the flower bed in front of my living room window, coating my skirt on the way down. For a split second I had this thought of rescuing it. Fortunately there was enough for all to eat without it. I have never made it again.

will be forewarned omelettes on menu for tonights dinner to be cooked in a rush as going out...more haste less speed ...

I went to the fridge the other day, and managed to knock a pack of eggs out, took me ages to clean all the raw egg up, and still finding bits of frozen yolk inside the freezer!

I remember DH phoning me very proudly, in the middle of a night shift to say DD had been sick but he'd coped and all was well....

I returned home the next morning to a bath full of cold, utterly disgusting water and the duvet (still inside its cover) 2 pillows ditto, a sheet and four bath towels

It took me nearly an hour to extricate, wring out, hump everything down the stairs (dripping water everywhere) and wash/put in washing machine. Then cleaning the room/carpet took another 2 hours.

I almost went back to work the moment I saw the chaos.

I remember GS projectile vomiting down the spiral staircase in DD2s living room- the ricochet effect was as they say today 'awesome'.

This thread has put me right off omelettes for more than one reason

I once stood in the middle of my kitchen and poured the just-cooked peas into a strainer – and the boiling water all down my legs and over my bare feet.

However, the most unpleasant incident was when pre-school absentdaughter had an attack of croup during the night. I tucked her into our bed, snuggled up with daddy, and went to sleep in her bed because I had a huge amount of work on a hideous deadline to do the next day. Before I left the bedroom, I said, "Don't give her Calpol." As soon as I had gone, he gave her Calpol and she threw up. He cleared up any vomit he could see, he went to sleep, she went to sleep and the croup was gone in the morning.

I work from home and didn't have to go anywhere the following day, but the day after, we needed milk so I shot across the road to the corner shop. I put my hand in my bag – which had been beside my bed – to get out my purse. It had been open and was, of course, full of 36-hour-old vomit!
