My D and family live on the other side of world and are coming back to UK for 2 month in summer. I'm divorced, so between myself and ex and her inlaws and church friends I've found she and 2 of the children are visiting me for just 3 days , tho I am getting the 2 elder girls for a week. I do feel upset that I just have 3 days with her, while the rest take precedent but am trying to take the attitude that if she really wanted more she would do so. I thought about stating my case over face time, but think I could make it worse. We don't have a bad relationship, as in we speak once a week on face time but things have never been same since the breakup when ex and his new GF and our daughter got involved in church, her inlaws are of the same persuasion. Should I just put it to a place in back of mind and enjoy what I get, hard at moment though. Families :-/

Rockchick It certainly looks as though your DD is going to very busy visiting and catching up with everyone during her stay,I would look at it as 3 full days of your own "Quality Time" with your DD with no interference from in-laws or friends etc.
If your DD was to just pop in to visit every now and then during her visit then maybe the time would not equate to 3 days in total over the 2 months
at least doing it this way you have her to yourself for a special time.
Do you think maybe because you heard the arrangements via other parties rather than your DD that this has upset you a wee bit as I can understand if it has.
I would just go with the flow at the minute and not mention anything until your DD does you never know things change quickly and you could end up with a houseful for longer than you expected. flowers

3 days out of 2 months? That is absolutely not right in my opinion. Church or no church, she should be with you a lot more than that.

Treasure each moment and the wonderful opportunity to have the two girls for a whole week. Don't let your hurt taint the time that you do have with DD - make it a special time, and she will realise what she is missing by only having a short time with you.

Having divorced parents must complicate the issue for her.

As to the church thing - it is like a clan, and she will gravitate towards this - perhaps you could get religion for a couple of months!

Above all do not let her see that you are aggrieved - just enjoy what you do have and DD will see for herself how precious it is.

I also would not make any comment, it could go wrong.
It would be awful if there was bad feeling prior/during the visit.
And difficult to resolve when so many miles are between you.

It is also very possible when DD is with you, and you have some nice chats, that the subject of only 3 days may arise quite naturally.

I would feel as you do, but wouldn't make an issue.
