Yes, when I signed up for classes in playing a drum kit. It was fab & I still want to get my own drum kit.

Good luck Mrs Pickle. I do a bit of agility with my young cockapoo, he loves it and i can't keep up. Last week I took his lead off and he did the course, leaping over 3 jumps and the climbing area with joy. Springers love agility as well. I hope your'e fitter than I am

I love watching the agility events at Crufts on TV. The dogs all seem to be having a great time. Hope you enjoy it too!

Now I'm retired I would love to do agility but my 14 year old dogs are well past it!!

A good friend of mine does agility competitions with her collie. She wins rosettes for heaven's sake and there I am needing a sit down with a cuppa after a twenty minute walk with two Jack Russells

I have been on my dreadthrill (aka treadmill) trying to get fit for the Springer challenge. One of us may fail and it won't be her!

I love watching agility. The dogs are clearly having the time of their life and they look so happy. Not sure I could keep up though!

Good for you! I hope you enjoy it as much as Anu will. My dog, a basset, studiously ignores all attempts to get her doing anything that is agilty-related, although she's happy to plonk herself at the top of the toddler slide until the grandchildren push her down

Enjoy MrsPickles I bet you will have a good time with Anu there is no chance my dear little Poppy could do an agility course her little legs would not get very far (very short legged Lhasa Apso) she could roll down the dips though resembling a ball of fluff.

I thought I was completely mad when I started Belly Dancing classes. I really enjoyed it but stopped going when men were allowed to join the class......just didn't feel right.

Men + belly dancing.....doesn't bear thinking about!

There is a tradition of men belly dancing, I believe, but probably they did it separately from women.

Yes it was a shame but I just couldn't get to grips with Phillip, a morbidly obese older man parading around in a belly dance skirt, with his gut hanging out, flashing his finger cymbals and wafting his veils and wings. Not for me.

Anya would a cornet be easier than a trumpet? It's what most youngsters seem to start on. Mind you you can't play trumpets in a registered Brass Bands only cornets.

A friend of mine joined a novice wind band for adults when she was 50ish and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a community band Nellie not a brass band, they have all-comers, all ages, all sexes, playing all sorts of instruments, but their trumpet player went to Uni last September.

Yes, a cornet would be easier, but they have enough of those. Wonder if they're short of a triangle player perhaps?

Just don't make the mistake I made. My first dog agility class, I did the whole round with my dog, jumping over the jumps and everything. At the end, I got a round of applause and the teacher took me aside and quietly informed me that I didn't have to do it WITH the dog.

Haha, gillyg, no didn't make that mistake. Plenty of others, though, from having treats she didn't approve of (came home and made liver cake) to forgetting my left and right (erm, how old am I?) to having a Kong toy more suitable for Chiwawa (I thought it'd be light to throw).

But Anu did really well, going over jumps, through tunnels, weaving and doing the plank walk.

I have high hopes for her and, of course, hope that I can rise to her expectations, if not the trainer's!

I bet that was really encouraging for your dog on his / her first lesson, gillyg.
