I didn't win the lottery and other disappointments

Didn't win the lottery either, never owned the penthouse flat over looking the sea at Brighton, or the white range rover with a black top (wouldn't want either now). Would still like a ride on the Orient Express, though!

A little bit of me still expects that those are possible -OK I don't do the lottery, but that makes no difference,,

Never had a pony

Never bought my children a donkey.

Can't play a musical instrument
Can't embroider beautiful tapestry's
Can't fit into lovely knee high boots

Never ridden a horse
Never inherited anything
never had a birthday party


yes I have got lots of positives but just joining in the thread.

Never learned to ride. (A horse,of course).
Never visited family in new Zealand.
Third baby never came, but I still managed with two. It is strange, but I must only have been destined to have two children.
DH never became a millionaire. And we've never won the lottery!
Still, we're happy and healthy, so what's to complain about.

I cannot sing a note in tune.
I am a very poor swimmer.
Never won anything.
But most important of all I have never been seriously ill.

I once told my BiL that I wanted to be filthy stinking rich. He told me that at least I'd managed 2 out of 3!! Charming

No disappointments in my life, I am happy and have everything I need. Perhaps a smaller portion of the lazy genes might have been nice

Can't swim or drive and can't do lots of stuff but still here at 65

Never learnt to paint.
Never flew over Grand canyon.
Never owned a Victorian vicarage in it's own grounds with stunning views.
Never won more than £1500 on the lotto. (I know, I'm greedy)
Never learnt to play guitar.

Have had 40 yrs of very happy marriage and two healthy children.

I haven't, so far, persuaded DH that it is time to move to a nice modern easily managed house or bungalow with a more manageable garden. I am working on it and as son as he realises it is HIS idea, and the right property comes on the market in our village, I will be packing.

No, I don't regret it now, but I did while I was married to Ex.

I didn't go against my fathers wishes and become a Nurse instead of working in an office.
I didn't have another baby before the choice was taken away from me,I would have loved 4 children.
I didn't move abroad when the children where small I am not destined to endure cold weather.

Been rich (or even comfortably well off)
Managed to speak another language fluently
Successfully grow lupins
Won anything with Premium Bonds given to me at birth
Travelled more

However I do have a long marriage, two wonderful children and an amazing grandson, and I am pretty healthy so should count my blessings

or most of the other things listed above.

However, I
cope
cook fairly well
find things to laugh at in most situations
have a lovely husband
have a lovely and supportive family
am fairly healthy
love my house

Never had lovely long legs or lovely long blonde hair.
Never really been that good at cooking,never had a son,never had a tattoo,never really changed the world as I thought I would when I was 18.
Never been sexy, never had a huge circle of friends .
However on the plus side never had a serious illness,had a long and more or less happy marriage,had two wonderful daughters,had lots of lovely holidays,and I have two perfectly if somewhat very sturdy legs.

I didn't get into the hockey first XI
Didn't get made captain of the second XI

Haven't written a best seller - or even a worst seller.

Haven't persuaded OH to fly(in a plane)
Seen Australia
cut my hair really short
Made friends easily
bought my children a car each
never been to Scotland
driven a racing car
never scuba dived.

Maybe its not too lot for a couple of them

My cup is much more than half full but I'm sure there are many things I have not been able to do. I much prefer to concentrate on the things I can do and if I can't do anything it is because I am doing something else !

Fly in an airplane (I still get a thrill even though I do it 2-3 times a year)

Here are the dreams that did come true
A happy marriage to a good nice ( at times bloody really annoying) man
Had healthy children
Lots of lovely grandchildren
Always been in work
Still part of a large extended family
Lived a good life
Been reasonably healthy
Been to Rome ( this was my most hopeful wish it was the only place I really really wanted to go to)

Not a disappointment as such but I would have liked to be fabulously wealthy before I was 35.
( or anytime will do)

I wasted 25 years in a loveless marriage and places I hated.
I put up with a bullying boss for far too long.
I never got a donkey.
