Buying 3 for 2 and scrabbling around to find a third thing that you actually want (did that yesterday in Boots, had two gift sets in hand, couldnt find 3rd that I wanted, so put the other two back)

Oh the dreaded 3 for 2 GillT57. Shopping with DD last week we spent over an hour trying to match up prices (getting three things for £15 and three for £5 etc.) when realistically all the prices are probably inflated to cover the loss.

um. In the pork example, I cant see what is wrong with that. My guess is that the use by date is years in advance, and sounds like he will use the tins soon.
So, no problem unless storage is a problem.

Your son. My husband worked out a couple of years ago, that a breadmaker makes bread that is half the price of shop bought.

I hate taking DH to Aldi. He loves browsing down the middle bit because he's convinced it's full of unexpected bargains. Yesterday he bought yet another torch.

His argument was that the next time we go there won't be any left.

The next time I go, matey, you're not coming.

Merlot same here . i would be cheaper hiring someone to do my shopping and bring it home, when DH comes along he pops several bottles of wine in, or when in Aldi ( which he really likes) he finds all sorts of tools and stuff.

My DH's particular weakness is for screwdrivers. He can't seem to get enough of 'em. Aldi's "middle bit" is like a man magnet isn't it merlot?

Bought some half price material to do a hand sewing project. Saved £6. Found I can no longer sew, bought a sewing machine, taken up patchwork cost so far £82. Less of course the £6 I SAVED..

We arranged to pick up our sixteen year old grandson at the station as he had an afternoon off college but he walked to Aldi to meet us there as he caught an earlier train.

Blow me if I didn't have two of them at it, heads down like a couple of conspirators rummaging through all the screwdrivers, thermal socks, drill bits, fishing bait etc.

I think I got off lightly though.....One torch, two dog chews and a pack of Stollen Bites.
