I seldom post now as we are getting to the point where we will be censoring our thoughts and opinions before we express them as someone will always be affected.Is this what the majority want?

jingle unless I am missing something, I don't see any argument. I see thoughtful discussion and consideration among adults.

Of course I have no knowledge of what has gone on in other people's lives, just as other people don't know what has gone on in my life.

Should those posters who quite rightly are proud of their GC's results today not have posted in case they upset others who have less academic GC? Of course not.

Unless I've missed something, the only person I saw describing suicide as selfish was Jing. I read many moving posts from gransnetters with personal experience of suicidal thoughts, loved ones who committed suicide, and acknowledging personal struggles with depression.

There were others, Iam64, and perhaps you also missed jingl's post regarding the suicide of her mother on the other thread?

I think it has been a sensitive discussion and sensitively handled by those who have posted.

I am sorry for your loss as a 19 year old, and all credit to you for picking yourself up and making a good life; not many could have done this. I am sure that it still comes back to you and must be hard to bear - it is hard to find the courage to move in from such tragedies, as many of us will know.

In the main I think that posters on GNet do bear in mind that we do not know what others have been through.
