Am I alone in finding it disturbing that some of the celebrations involve weapons of war? I have never understood the fly pasts etc that happen on Remembrance Sunday. Surely it is the people not the weapons we should be remembering? There is an event in France where a First WW gun and its carriage are being pulled 100 miles by horses. I find that grotesque.
I can see the need to honour those who died, but feel it should be done without these weapons that dealt the death blow.
My father refused to have anything to do with remembrance, his argument being why would anyone want to remember such a dreadful time? - and that individuals would remember their loved ones on their own way.
I also have a problem with primary school children being involved in remembering all this slaughter.
I seem to find myself out of step with everyone on this. It would be nice to know that someone shared my reservations.
Suggestions for a strong but pet friendly weed killer please.
