Morning Mick. I'm up early too. Babysitting ten month old grandson. I think he's teething gain as he woke a couple of times during the night unable to breathe but is fine once he's upright. Somehow his parents (who got back at midnight) managed not to wake.

It's Very overcast here. Can't believe the forecast says occasional cloud and no rain. Seems to be building up for a storm.

Blue sky and sunshine here in W Yorks. Had some rain in the night but slept through it. The garden is smelling very fresh. Off to local NT place today for picnic with 6 GCs [and their parents of course]. Life is good smile

Morning Mick and everybody. It's not quite as hot here in SE Hampshire this morning but still looks like another lovely day. Might feel more like cooking when it cools down - getting a bit fed up with salads and snack meals!

Enjoy your days everyone! sunshine

Good morning everyone.
Bright with fluffy clouds this morning in East Sussex. We had about six drops of rain last night. It's expected to rain here tomorrow but as the forecasters rarely get it right it will probably rain today or not at all. Better wash the sheets today. My mother would be horrified me doing laundry on a Sunday.

Slightly overcast here.
Off to go and try to get some arrows nearer to a target than I did last week!

AlieOxon Sun 27-Jul-14 07:56:57

Mornin' all.
Cloudy here, going to see my daughter today, taking veg I've grown.

And guess what, I can't see the tops of the cooling towers at the power station here any more......I didn't even wake up!

FlicketyB Sun 27-Jul-14 08:02:40

Up at 2.30 this morning to see three of the cooling towers at Didcot Power Station blown up, actually it was more implosion than explosion as they just descended quietly onto themselves. We had warm dry weather with just a hint of a breeze as dawn came.

We were told that the towers would be demolished between 3.00 - 5.00am and when, at 2.45 we drove to the site we had chosen, the roads were as busy as a mid-morning with cars, cyclists and pedestrians. It was 5.00am before the cooling towers did go, meanwhile we spent two interesting hours chattering to the 100s of people using the same vantage point as us to see the sight.

In all thousands of people took to high points for miles around to see the spectacle. After the event traffic cleared incredibly clearly and by 5.30 roads were back to usually early Sunday morning quietness.

Thanks Flickety for the local report!

I wanted to see it but got too little sleep the night before to even think about it - pity.

I said earlier that although not forecast it would probably rain today. Guess what it's raining and me with the washing on. The rain does smell lovely though. Don't expect it will be much the suns shining.

Thankfully a little cooler down here in Devon, but still sunny with bits of misty cloudy stuff. Yesterday surprised us with a sudden very heavy downpour, much needed. Nice to have a break from hosepipe duties.
Not sure I can be bothered to pack a picnic and go on the moors. Might just sit in the garden.

Nonu Sun 27-Jul-14 11:40:43

Top of the morning one and all, hot & humid here!

We have several Little jobs to do nothing important just stuff.

Do one, then have to have a sit down, to get our breath back, mind you I think norty little Mr N is using it as an excuse to hop down and watch the cricket.

Laugh!!
