Morning Mick and everyone. I don't know why I've been up since 5:30. I just couldn't sleep any longer. I think I'll bag up some of my compost heap today. There is so much stuff to put on at the moment I'm running out of space for it all. I might also rake over last night's bonfire and get it going again as there is also a lot of non-compostable clippings to get rid of.
Dry and overcast in south east Cornwall.
Have a good day!

Morning all! It was lovely and sunny at 5.30 here. Like you ruby I couldn't sleep any longer. Now it's come over cloudy and the forecast is for some rain from lunchtime. Hope my washing is dry before then - first load is on the line.

Handed back DGC to their parents on their return from a short break in Portugal yesterday. Nice to have a quiet evening catching up on the papers etc. but oh my how quiet it feels!

Happy days everyone! sunshine

Morning to all, Happy Monday!
Warm, dry but cloudy in Mid-Sussex. Sitting with the windows open, listening to a bumble bee having his breakfast from my nasturtiums, which are under the lounge window, with the birds as backing singers.
If it stays dry I shall be outside as much as possible, painting the garden chairs with some lovely 'forget-me-not blue' cuprinol, to match the garden shed.
Have a nice one everyone smile

Morning all. Cloudy but very warm in East Sussex.
Had a letter on Saturday from GP surgery to contact them. Needless to say spent all weekend worrying. Spoke to them as soon as they opened today. The X-ray it had done last week showed a new fracture in my ribs right next to old fracture. Same rib that had a subluxation at the spine end. No wonder it hurt.
Four days until we go on holiday. grin

Good morning!

Lovely bright start in North Leicestershire but we have a yellow weather warning for rain later!

I've just been clipping all the velux windows open and discovered that most of them have those teeny red spiders on them!!! Anyone know if I should worry? confused

Enjoy your days everyone. sunshine

Good Morning! Thunder and lightening and heavy downpour here in south Cheshire. It was short lived lived but I am sure there will me more.

PRINTMISS Mon 09-Jun-14 08:58:52

Good morning all, a really sticky night, and rather than getting up at 5.30, I eventually fell into a really deep sleep for a couple of hours! Hope it does not rain because I had a really lazy day yesterday when I should have been sorting out the garden, so that is something I must do today. Enjoy your days

Off to London later this morning to see lovely DGD, a month old tomorrow! Usually I am very decisive about packing, but have dithered about something rotten today and now packed for all weather eventualities, with raincoat easy to get at. I always go laden with home made goodies, so I trudge along dreaming of being one of those people who manage to go away with just one small bag. If you are one of them, how do you do it?

Nelliemoser Mon 09-Jun-14 09:12:13

vegasmags Enjoy your cuddles.

Sunny here in Durham but a restless sky. The decorator has started on the eaves so it mustn't rain. Awful storm last night.

ninathenana Mon 09-Jun-14 09:17:33

Morning all.
Warm and cloudy in N.Kent. I have just dropped DH at one of his gardening jobs so fingers crossed it doesn't rain until late afternoon. Lazy day for me as I washed and dried 4 loads of laundry yesterday. It was a glorious day here.
vegas no I'm not a one bag person either smile

Good morning one and all.

Cold, grey, miserable looking day here which is quite a contrast to yesterday (yesterday, temperature was 21 degrees). We are supposed to be facing another deluge later so the dogs were walked very early before it starts!

Morning. We're in the middle of a thunderstorm and torrential downpour that wasn't forecast at all. Don't like it.

suebailey1 Mon 09-Jun-14 10:24:42

Good morning - early sun has given way to strong breezes and clouds with a promise of thunderstorms to come. I have given George Clooney the elbow today and will go to boring Rotary Club lunch instead.

Morning, everyone - a half-hearted attempt to trim the hedge and strim the path and down came yet another shower! Do we need a 'chucking it down' emoticon? sunshine

AlieOxon Mon 09-Jun-14 11:38:39

Fairly dull here.
Waiting for a) gardener who said 11am
b) doctor to phone......
Meanwhile in the last hour I have sorted out and will dispose of masses of old mail, most of which I knew was bumf. Now what do I do?

Nelliemoser Mon 09-Jun-14 11:41:06

My DD is sheltering at a city farm with DGS. He is covered in suncream and wearing shorts. Sil has just posted a picture from his office window of it raining stair rods in town.

Why don't these people look at weather forecasts before setting out.

Tegan Mon 09-Jun-14 12:33:53

Same here in Derby; the road looks like a river!

Tegan Mon 09-Jun-14 12:34:24

...mind you; my lawn which I cut very short last week looks fantastic!

Tegan Mon 09-Jun-14 12:36:21

Crikey; it's as if someone is throwing stones ..the hailstones are just bouncing off the window...

Tegan Mon 09-Jun-14 12:37:51

...and I won't need to clean the car this week, either...if I'd had more time I could have put a bit of washing up liquid on the roof and it would have come up sparkling...

harrigran Mon 09-Jun-14 13:52:15

We have the weather chart on DH's computer and the storm should reach us within the hour, in Durham in about 30 minutes.
