My great aunt was an original GG! She eventually became something important in GGing..but will have to look out the old newspaper cutting to remind me of the details!

I do lots of thinking on a daily basis jingle but will try to do extra today.

I should mention, the Guides and Scouts are supposed to think about other Guides and Scouts worldwide.

What a strange subject to want them to think about! Why?

They were talking about this on Woman's Hour. Apparently they are thinking about the subject of violence to women and girls. Not sure if my GD has joined the Guides yet - she has been a lukewarm Brownie.

Oh - so not other Guides and Scouts then?

It's supposed to bring the worldwide organisation together. In thought. They do seem to have up-dated the subject matter since I was a Guide.

My recollection of thinking day is that we were told to think about what it meant to be a girl guide, to think about guides in other countries and what their lives were like and also to generally try to be more thoughtful about other people. We also had to wear our guide uniforms rather than our school uniforms.

I looked good in my brownie outfit. The beret looked like a pancake on top of a haystack. I was a Sprite...don't ask...

Beret? How new-fangled. I had a brown knitted had with pom-pom. And I was a Kelpie.

I started off with a woollen one. No pom pom though. Liked the berets much better. #wannabeabrownieagain

I don't remember a hat at all at Brownies, but there is a photo of me in my uniform the day I got enrolled, complete with brown Norah Batty tights on my skinny legs!

I think I started off as an Elf and then morphed into a Pixie.

Never did get the darning badge...Brown Owl used to suck her teeth whenever I presentedher with my lumpy sock.

I was an elf and when I flew up to Guides I was a thistle.

I absolutely loved going to camp with the guides. We piled all the equipment into the back of a furniture van then all climbed in and sat on top of it! Can you imagine the furore now if kids did that?

Red rose in the Guides. I remember flying up. They got hold of your leg.........

Like that mode of transport. We went on a coach and I was sick.
