Happy Birthday nightowl have put this somewhere else too but I can't remember where, I have only been on the computer about twenty minutes

I hope everyone will forgive me if I forget their birthday - after ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren I am all birthdayed out! I never celebrate my own birthday and don't mind if others forget it.

Thank you all for your good wishes, I am sitting here in my dressing gown with my favourite little boy here for the day. Don't intend to do very much although we will go out for a walk if the weather holds. I have never been so old before but trying to comfort myself with the thought that I will never be so young again! So glad I found gransnet and lots of lovely equally young friends x

PS. The cake and flowers were lovely, but disappointed to say the poo kit has not yet arrived!

I wonder just what the response rate is and how many of those are positive? And of those positive results, how many are actual Ca rather than other causes of bleeding!
In other words, is this survey economically viable?

I don't know any statistics on this, but I do know that my DH tested positive and was sent for more tests, which showed that he had a tumour in his bowel. He had in fact been having other symptoms but (just like a man) he thought they were normal.

A year before he received his kit, I received mine, which did not have any nasty results. Now, had his been the earlier one, perhaps his tumour would have been detected before it spread, and I would not have had to organise his funeral two weeks ago. That may not be economically viable, but it would have made me very much happier.

Do not bin it. Grit your teeth and get scraping with the little spatula. It could save your life
