Afternoon with Friends

Afternoon with friends is a treat
We make it special when we meet
For friends that cannot join us this day
They are missed and for them we pray.

On the table is a lovely bouquet
A pot of coffee and cups on a tray
I pick a different flower for each friend
Like our friendship, the flowers blend.

Visiting with friends makes my day bright
Each one is very special in my sight
I accept each one of them as they are
To me, each one is a shining star.

Afternoon with friends has come to an end
We have enjoyed our visit once again
I knew our friendship would stand
As each left with a flower in her hand

The female deer was grazing in the wood. My husband cut an apple into chunks and called to her from the fence. She pricked up her ears [they swivel in all directions] and on seeing him, she trotted, head held high, to take the apple from his hand. He then stroked her velvety head. Magic! smile

Galss I've seen our first lily of the valley...such simple flowers and yet perfect with a wonderful perfume. If I could, I would pick a posy and hand them to you. flowers

I have not seen any "Lily of the Valley" as yet they are really the most simple of flowers but the most delightful you are really blessed as to where you live Soop.

My first Lily of the Valley are just out, also hosters and Solomons Seals, here in Norfolk. This weekend in Hampshire, MIL garden was amazingly ahead!

I must go and have a look to see what has happened to my lily of the valley, I transplanted them last year, and haven't seen anything of them yet, do so hope I have not lost them, but then again I have a really lovely friend who will replace them for me, (if she has them in her garden, which I think she has) as she is very generous like that. She is helping with the Chichester Cathedral Flower Festival this year, and I am enjoying listening to her plans, and of course looking forward to the Festival itself.

Printmiss Our wee village has an annual flower festival. The arrangements, both inside and outside the kirk, are marvellous. Always amazed at the artistic flair and huge patience that goes into telling a story in flower form. flowers
