Gift Aid

I just donated online to a charity and, as I don't pay tax, I indicated not to add Gift Aid. However, the final page said that £xx (I don't wish to actually say the amount) had been added as Gift Aid. I tried to back track and cancel this but it wasn't possible. Does anyone know what the outcome will be?

The charity will claim that amount from HMRC, and you may receive a bill for that amount from HMRC.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me. I ticked the box not to add Gift Aid and it has been added.

Also tried to cancel without any luck.

It may be worth emailing the charity or owner of the site - it’s a programming error, where the ‘no gift aid’ check doesn’t connect to the final page total.
