Trousers/tracksuit that are very very relaxed

Try "Simplybe" even though they cater for the larger lady they start their sizes at a 12 so pretty good range available,they do some trousers/joggers with a thick elastic waistband which is very comfortable and ajustable,they match with blinged up hoodie type tops if you are that way inclined M&S have some every day joggers in 3/4 colours with wide waist band these are a very reasonable £9.50 great for inside your boots or just casual wear. When I broke both arms in the summer I couldn't use them at all and DH had to dress me. To make life simpler I bought several pairs of pull on jogging bottoms from M&S.

Bon Marche sell elastcated waist trousers.

And Marks velvet ones are very good.

I have just remembered "Box2" for any special occasion items you may be looking for they do nice stretchy waist clothing but they are pricey,but you get what you pay for imo.

Greenfinch I've had a pair of Marks' velvet trousers for years. Just dig them out about now and dress them up with a nice top. Very flattering too!

I don't know whether you would be interested in Fisherman pants. They have a relaxed wrap around waist fastening with no elastic. They don't look very warm or smart though. I know they can be worn throughout a pregnancy and after so the fit would be comfortable.

Would it be an idea to look at maternity joggers/trousers? They generally have a wide band of stretchy stuff round the middle but fit "normally" everywhere else.
Lands End also do very generous stretchy trousers.

My daughter got me into the habit of changing into comfortable baggy trousers when indoors. She started that to keep better trousers from getting covered in baby and toddler gunge.

Loose elastic waists and warm soft fabrics are far more comfortable to wear around the house. Unless you are one of those women who feel they have to look very smart all the time even when they are at home.

If you need smarter stretchy ones Marks do a 'jegging' in stretchy fabric - about £20 - in black and navy and all sizes. They are narrow at the bottom so fit nicely into boots. They have better quality ones at £35 but they are very stiff and strong to get on!

I like Lands End and Cotton Traders for comfortable elastic waist trousers and tops. I've gone off 'proper' jeans for the time being

M&S jeggings are stretchy, comfortable, smart and come in a range of colours. With these for smart wear and elastic waisted trousers/joggers for casual, it's not too difficult to be comfortable these days.

I see Daphne beat me to the maternity pants suggestion.

I did actually buy some locally made maternity trousers (a far cry from the awful stuff available in the 1970s), but I felt a wee bit mortified even walking into the shop. They did say, however, "you're not the first one", which was encouraging.

Nike make good track suit bottoms. They are elastic but also have a tie so that you can adjust them to fit. I got mine in JD sports. Really hard wearing, unlike M&S which I found went thin after a few months

I second M and S jeggings for smart casual. For wearing in the house in winter and outside the rest of the year, I love Next's harem pants. I have black and navy for winter and patterned for summer; the sizes are quite large, I buy a 12 in M and S and a 10 in Next.. Both M and S and Next deliver abroad for a pretty reasonable price.

Thanks Flossie and Mamie, hadn't thought about Nike, great idea. As I work from home, (almost) all I need are comfortable trousers. Will certainly be doing a recce in M&S!
