Has anyone been successful in arranging a contact order so they can see their grandchild/children?

I have read up abit on this and for it to stand a chance in court you need to prove that you have been a positive re-occurring person in their life. The court need to see that the child will benefit from your relationship/ the child is missing out on you not being in their life. Hope that's some help.
