baby doll clothes

I have aquired an 18 inch baby doll and would like to knit some clothes for my dgc to play with. As there doesn't seem to be many free patterns from Ravelry and others for this size baby doll would patterns for a premature baby fit? or any suggestions please?

I tried searching for patterns but there didn't seem to be many. More than one site did say that baby clothes sized for 18 inch babies would be near enough.

They would probably be fine, you could always knit a test piece and adjust the needle size if necessary.

It is not as though the doll is going to complain if the fit is less than perfect.

Perhaps you could use a baby 4ply or DK pattern but use 3ply wool and finer needles. That might work. Measure your tension first though.
