I have just binge watched this drama for the second time. Really enjoyed it and noticed more subtle signs with the characters with the second viewing.
Any other gransnetters enjoyed watching this?

Yes, very much. I had read the book first though.

I do remember watching it first time around and I loved it. Can’t remember much about it though! May give it another whirl, although I seem to accumulate so much to watch that I’ve recorded, I have to let some things go. I am a bit picky about the serials I watch - so many of them are concerned with crime these days and that’s not really my thing.

I remember a discussion on here when it was first on TV. Some people found it sordid!

Spoiler Alert.....Yes, the book shows "x" being slowly diminished as the trial goes on, even his name is ordinary. The TV series, good as it was, couldn't really recreate the slow realisation by Yvonne that he is just a man.

I read the book . Years ago though . I’ve probably forgotten much of the plot .
