Anyone remember Clochemerle?

Luckygirl3

It came up in a book I amnreading and I plan to watch it on YouTube. I seem to remember we loved it at the time.

Thank you for mentioning Clochemerle.

I had moved away from the UK when the BBC produced it, so I never saw it, even although I adored Peter Ustinov then.

I have watched it now on youtube four times and ordered the book. Every time I watch it I find new details.

Blast from the past ! I used to watch this with my Dad When I was approximately 14.
My son has married a French girl, I asked her if she had heard of it , but she hadn’t .

I don’t remember it at all. Going to check it out on utube. Think I’m in for a treat!

Used to watch it with my dad
We loved it
I was 14 lol
Was it Friday night about 10 ?

Bien sur!!
I have the book on my shelf and still find it as funny as when I first read it. A true classic. Thank you for the reminder

I remember it well. No”pissores” in Paris or anywhere these days.
Curiously, it was mentioned in my paper recently regarding obstructive councillors.

I remember my Dad really enjoying the television adaptation. It came up recently in Fi & Jane’s Times radio podcast and they didn’t know how to pronounce it. Made me feel ancient.

I, too, loved Peter Ustinov's voice. It was mellifluous

It was Roy Dotrice I was thinking of!

No - I don't think so.

Peter Ustinov is the narrator. Good to hear his voice again.

My dad loved it. Was David Kossof in it?

Oui . Le pissoire

Just watched the first episode again - you can find it on Youtube.
I cannot get rid of the subtitles which are hilariously inaccurate .. urinal is You Rhino!

Yes I remember it. I have the book somewhere but followed it more on TV.

I remember reading it under a hairdryer over 50 years ago and laughing so loud people were watching me .
I had to explain what I was reading, thank you for reminding me.
